Here’s the simple steps to get Orbiter to work: (1) Place the Orbiter reader at the Start, Finish or Way Point. (2) Know who you gave the bibs to each racers. (3) As the Participants pass the reader, it will “beep”. Do these three things while making sure the ‘beep’ is on and your race/ lap count is 100% safe. (4) Administration can be done before, during, and after the race. (5) Results may be streamed in real time on the Real Time Viewer and ported over to a live LED for participants to see.
We designed Orbiter with ease of use in mind so anyone can time a race. How one can operate Orbiter’s software can look at the home page tabs run from left to right. Just click on each tab filling out the form. This software allows you to do so before, during, and after your race. It’s easy to remember with just a minimum amount of steps to operate Orbiter.
So simple, a live connection between the Orbiter reader and the laptop is not even needed. Detections can be synced to the computer later.
Another feature is that an internet connection to the Cloud is not needed. Your race is completely under your control and everything you need is onsite and local. If you want, Orbiter does allow an option to be on the Cloud or cellular connection. Your race is safe and you may proceed without any hold ups. There is no reason with Orbiter to start a race late. Start your races on time all the time. This is the case even if you have not important all of the day of the event registrations. These can be done at any time.
